It was a little after noon and Elizza Larkspur left the training academy without a word to the others. There was no one to talk to anymore. Ever since the death of her best friend, she had become focused on training not making friends. Elizza knew that this would be the year she would volunteer into the games. The chances of being reaped were very slim and she didn't want to stay in this district any longer. Or for better words, she didn't want to stay with her parents. She couldn't wait to be free and out of their tight hold on her. The strict rules they gave her and the unnecessary restrictions she had were ridiculous in her mind. Elizza only found one way out, and that was the games. This way she would be away from her parents and she would have the chance to show her strength and avenge Gabriella's death. She couldn't handle living in such restrictions any longer, even though she broke them everyday on purpose to show her own freedom to her parents. All she wanted was some respect towards her way of living. Nothing more, nothing less, and it seemed her mother would never budge.
Elizza walked on down a couple streets and shops, trying to decide where she should go. It was the weekend and all she had was training. She didn't feel much in the mood to eat yet and she certainly didn't want to go home. The blonde stopped and turned around deciding she would try and find her father around. He had been a peacekeeper and was barely ever home. Most other peacekeepers stay home most of the time but he chose not to, he chose to take over some of the other men's jobs. District 2 was rather lenient because it is one of the better favored districts and are known for their careers. It hadn't made any sense to her, and she had been a lot more fond of her father than her own mother. They were close and shared some qualities. It was always nice to just have a normal talk with her father. That was when she could really be herself. Around others she put on another side of her, a rebellious side that called for anything and everything to come her way.
After failing in attempt to find her father, Elizza ended up just sauntering around the houses, avoiding passing her own for good reason. There had to be something to do or somewhere to go. Or maybe even someone to meet. But here in District 2, many people knew her face but never actually spoke to her. She figured it was because she was a hard-core career. A focused and down-to-earth one, not one to prance around telling everyone. Elizza was proud of her progress and liked to show it off no doubt, but that didn't mean she would yell about it. The young woman crossed her arms and looked around the area, still trying to come up with something to do that would perhaps show up her mother.
